St. Francis’ church is a spacious Baroque building with a bell tower, located in the dense tissue of the southern part of the Old Town of Kotor.
The church was built in 1688, after the great earthquake of 1667. Following the last Mass in 1840, the church has been abandoned and remained in ruins.
The project proposed modifying the function of the building from a sacred space to a library for the Diocese of Kotor, while presenting the newly discovered archaeological remains at the ground-floor level and within the foundations of the church.
