Smekja palace complex is located in the central, coastal part of Perast. The complex consists of two palace wings: the older, Baroque one built in 1764, and a later one completed in 1936. The Baroque church of St. Mark is alike part of the complex. Smekja palace represents the largest and one of the finest palaces of Perast.
Prominent position by the sea, spatial arrangement, upper-floor terrace, decorated stone frames of windows and doors, and the fact that all of the façades made of Korčula limestone contribute to the building’s splendour.
The subject of the project was rehabilitation and conservation of the façades and the roof of the older palace wing.
